Playboy looking for ladies to join its Poker Team

Playboys Alta Loma Entertainment has commissioned the Players Network to produce “Playboys Women of Poker,” a multi-part television series that will feature beautiful women competing to become members of Playboys Poker Team. The winners may be featured in a Playboy Magazine pictorial.

Women can get on the show by participating in one of five regional qualifying holdem tournaments held throughout the United States where they will also do a test photo shoot. Six finalists from each region will win a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the televised finals. The six women who accumulate the most points through their poker and modeling skills at the final event will become members of Playboys Poker Team, attend parties at the Playboy Mansion, and potentially appear in Playboy Magazine or on Playboy.com as “Cybergirls.”

Poker star blasts House vote

Top U.S. poker playing star Howard Lederer came out with guns blazing this week in an article condemning the House of Representatives vote against online gambling. In an excellent guest article in the New York Daily News, Lederer says that the machinations of Washington politics defeat him most of the time, but it is clear that effectively banning certain forms of online gambling - in particular online poker - is a terrible idea.

Lederer writes that Bill HR4411 offends common sense by trying to ban something that is enjoyed by millions of Americans and is legal in other forms. "And it is as hypocritical a piece of legislation as Washington has produced in a long time. Thats saying a lot," he avers.
